Chairwoman and Founder

Reki was born in 1964 in Surakarta Hadiningrat, Central Java. She completed her studies in Economic Management (1989) at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, Central Java. After having graduated from her study she moved to Bali. She worked for four years (1989/1993) as Resident Office Manager, handling Exports for German Companies like Günther Lambert GmbH, Mönchengladbach, Interdima Collection, Bad Bramstedt, Bale-Bale, Berlin and others.

In 1994/1996 she was Chief Financial Officer and Project assistant of the Environmental Bamboo Foundation, an NGO dealing with environmental issues and instrumental to organise the very succesful 4th International Bamboo conference in Bali in June 1995 - with many thousand participants from all over the world . On September 1996 she received a scholarship from Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft e.V to take course in Environmental friendly Product Design in Colongne. She continued her education through an intensive postgraduate study in Economic for Small Enterprise Promotion and Training (SEPT) at the Bremen University in Germany. After she finishing her study in 1998, she returned to Indonesia managing her own company, which is active in promoting small-scale businesses for example to Tasso Waterbeds. Since 2001 she has been active as a treasurer of the Rotary Club Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.

Already earlier she started together with several friends work on her own foundation called Ladybamboo Foundation, which was formally only established as an autonomous organization on February 9, 2002 due the complicated process of setting up such an organisation in Indonesia. Yayasan Putri Bamboo, the official Indonesian name of this non-profit organisation, is active in organising training/courses on all levels and focusing in educational and environmental issues.

Grace was born in 1957 in Iloilo, Philippines. She holds an Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of San Agustin (1980). From 1982 till 1986 she worked for Flavian Shipping Co. Ltd., Hong Kong.

Since 1989 Grace has been living in Bali. She is currently the president of Planetary Coral Reef Foundation – Indonesia (PCRF – I), NGO dealing with environmental issue especially waste water pollution and waste water treatment using aquatic plants. She is also a founding member of Yayasan Ibu Pertiwi, Bali.

In addition to being socially active, Grace is also the president of manufacturer and exporter of Balinese and Indonesian handicrafts company PT Kartika Agung Grace and director of CV Bali Chantique.

Uning was born in 1967 in Solo, Central Java. She holds a degree in Penal Law (1992) from Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, Central Java. She moved to Padang, West Sumatra after her study. Since 1996 she has been teaching at the Faculty of Law of the Bung Hatta, University in Padang.

In 1999 Uning took her Master in Law from Diponegoro University, Semarang, Central Java. Following her graduation she is back to teaching at the university and currently she is secretary of Bung Hatta University Research Centre for Penal Law (Bagian Hukum Acara) and the Law Centre for Communities (Pusat Hukum & Kemasyarakatan). Her research findingings to the Penal Code to combat the Negative Impact of Human Cloning Technology have been publish in professional journals.

Toetik was born in 1968 in Surabaya, East Java. Following high school, she took up Anthropology studies at Airlangga University, Surabaya (1985/1991). In 2000 she earned her PH.D. in Social Anthropology from the University of Hamburg, Germany.

She currently teaches at Airlangga University. Her articles have been publish in several professional journals both in Indonesian and English i.e: Ukuran-ukuran yang mempengaruhi berat badan (1992) Pertemuan Ilmiah Nasional Ahli Anatomi Indonesia; Growth in Indonesia children aged 6 to 15 years ( 1998 ), Folicia Medica Indonesia, XXXIV No.4.; On the relevance of the regional continuity features of the face in East Asia (2000),


Agus was born in 1960 inTabanan, Central Bali. He studied Economies at the University of Udayana, Bali (1983). After having graduated from his study, he continued his Management education at the Academy Secretary Management Indonesia, Denpasar, Bali.

Following his graduation on the 1986 he worked as Managing Director of Linda Garland's architectural/interior design consulting firm. In 1990 he worked for three months at Research & Development, in Sogoseni, Jakarta. In December 1990 he was invited as a trainer for developing traditional weaving and furniture in Ambon, East Indonesia. In addition he has worked regulary as a freelance interior designer for many and partly famous expatriates of Bali.

In 1993 Agus returned to Bali and worked a couple of more years as private assistant for Linda Garland before he started to work for one of Bali's leading export companies Great Divided Range as technical adviser.
